Maintenance Operations Manager

Job Type: Salary, exempt

Salary Range: $85,000 to $100,000 based on experience level

Job Qualification and Experience Qualifications: 10+ years of aviation maintenance or flight experience required. Prior team leadership experience required. FAA licensed Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic desired. FAA Inspector Authorization desired.

Position Overview:

Oversees all aspects of the FBO Maintenance and Avionics Department Operations. Keep flight school and scenic tour aircraft operational. Coordinate and supervise general aviation customer repairs and inspections. Coordinate with Warbird Maintenance Manager to keep Dr Sugden's fleet airworthy. Coordinates with Avionics Manager to deconflict and assist with avionics upgrades and repairs as needed. Responsibilities include customer relations, repair estimation, billing, hiring, pay, health and safety. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities for sales and services. Reports to TAC General Manager on shop performance including Profit and Loss review and budget responsibility. Manage and direct activities of subordinate supervisors and employees at the location. Promote a positive team environment to better serve the customers. Work with Director of Flight Operations to keep Dr. Sugden's Civil Aircraft Airworthy and Operational

Specific Responsibilities:

· Manage operations, including ensuring proper staffing levels are maintained based on daily/weekly/monthly volumes.

· Establish a culture that promotes safety and quality control through daily observations, shift briefings, job / customer audits, weekly safety meetings, training, and documented safety procedures.

· Manage performance of employees through mentoring and skill development to improve work performance and maximize employee potential.

· Conduct regular employee performance reviews and annual written reviews and pay adjustments

· Oversee and coordinate job postings, candidate reviews, interviews and job offers with Avionics, Warbirds and General Manager

· Formulate and abide by procedures for use in event of aircraft accidents, fires, or other emergencies.

· Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

· Ensure employees receive company communications and necessary training including safety, customer service standards, company values, etc.

· Develop understanding of the market for the Maintenance / Avionics departments

including sales and growth opportunities

· Conduct on-going analysis of competition to include product / service offerings, Pricing / Shop rates, employee pay and benefits.

· Create advertising and marketing appropriate for increasing business opportunities.

· Remain locally competitive by maintaining close contact with market conditions.

· Create new opportunities by developing and maintaining good relationships with customers, tenants, the airport authority, local government, and the local community.

· Establish a culture that promotes customer loyalty through increased employee / customer engagement such as having project lead mechanic deliver customer aircraft.

· Establish customer relationships and use feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes.

· Develop new business plans with capital requirements and anticipated performance. Assist General Manager in preparation of the Maintenance and Avionics department budgets by providing insight into capacity and opportunity.

· Responsible for financial management including capital expenditures, forecasting, budgeting, performance, and expense management.

· Responsible for developing and promoting sales and marketing initiatives for the Maintenance / Avionics and flight department.

· Other responsibilities as assigned by upper management and principal owners.

· Ensure that all aircraft belonging to Dr. Richard Sugden are kept in a state of airworthiness as directed by Dr. Sugden and the Director of Flight Operations.

· Assist in acquisition of warbirds parts, materials, and staff needed to operate each aircraft on an ongoing basis.

Maintenance Shop Foreman

Job Type: Hourly, non-exempt

Hourly Rate: $35-45 / hr based on experience level

Job Qualification and Experience requirements: FAA licensed Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic. FAA Inspector Authorization. Minimum of 3 years working as a licensed A&P on General Aviation aircraft.

Job Description Overview:

Ensure assigned inspection and maintenance projects are carried out efficiently. Maintenance tasks will normally be completed through assigning, leading and guiding less experienced mechanics. Execute complex maintenance tasks and inspections. Core responsibility a maintenance technician with the additional responsibility of ensuring tasks are completed in a timely fashion by using the mechanics assigned. Additional duties include customer service, job time and cost estimation and project scheduling.

Specific Job Responsibilities

· Direct / accomplish Aircraft Maintenance as directed by Maintenance and Warbird Managers

· Assess aircraft requirements to derive expected personnel and time required.

· Task, supervise and train Aircraft Mechanics and Maintenance Technicians (helpers).

· Direct Maintenance facility manager, office manager and parts manager as needed to complete assigned aircraft maintenance tasks.

· Coordinate required equipment, shipping and receiving with facility manager

· Coordinate required work orders, invoices, inventory usage with office manager

· Coordinate required parts with facility / parts manager or order parts as needed

· Organize and prioritize tasks by assigning project leads and aircraft movement plan

· Ensure facility, tools and support equipment safety, cleanliness and organization

· Observe, inspect and direct personnel as needed to ensure safe FAA technical order approved maintenance practices including towing, jacking, inspecting, repairing and ground testing aircraft.

· Greet customers & create service work order. Provide time & cost estimate.

· Estimate Time & cost using maintenance manuals, experience and historical data.

· Coordinate aircraft arrival, preparation, repair and delivery

· Review and assist in invoice preparation

· Coordinate and update Maintenance Schedule to match with hangar & mechanic availability.

· Ensure appropriate scheduling volume for staffing levels.

· Interact with customers and tenants to promote the Maintenance & Avionics department, solicit customer feedback and assess customer satisfaction.

Customer Service Representative

  • Part time year round and full time seasonal positions available

  • Seeking individual with the ability to multi-task efficiently and pay close attention to detail

  • Duties include but are not limited to answering the phone, booking car rentals, arranging lodging, invoicing, scheduling and general clerical tasks

  • Customer service experience preferred

Aviation Service Writer - Parts Manager

Service Writing: determine customer needs, coordinate estimates, create and execute service agreement. Creates work orders, coordinates scheduling, and assists aircraft arrival. Oversees work order while work is in progress, updating customer on progress and gets customer’s approval, if additional service is required. Arrange outside services when needed. Assists with preparation and delivery, after return to service. Assists in creating and reviewing invoices and filing warranty claims.

Parts Management: coordinate parts acquisition for upcoming work, point of contact for parts required for work in progress. Ordering parts for Teton Aviation Center Maintenance Operations and Avionics Dept including sourcing parts for warbird and experimental aircraft.  Manage parts inventory. Provide updates on parts ordered for customers and job supervisors.  Oversees parts to jobs in progress and confirms parts, fluids, and outside services are applied to work order. Conduct marketing and sale of surplus inventory.

Assists with workorder time tracking, employee timecard adjustments and PTO approval.

Certified Flight Instructor—NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2024

The flight department is currently accepting applications for CFI’s to begin full time work in May 2024. Part time work is available for the fall/winter seasons. Competitive applicants will have a CFI/II, second class medical, 100 hours of dual given and preference will be given to those with mountain flying experience, time in Cessna and Diamond aircraft and the desire to work for at least two summer seasons (May-September).
